In our recent announcement, we introduced a new way to access Optimize Live—now available with pay-as-you-go pricing on AWS Marketplace. This flexible billing model lets you start optimizing right away with no upfront commitments or rigid contracts.

In this guide, we’ll walk through how the pricing works, how to subscribe via AWS Marketplace, and how to find your usage and billing information once you’re up and running.

How Is StormForge Optimize Live Pay-as-You-Go Priced?

StormForge Optimize Live’s pay-as-you-go pricing is based on the total number of CPU requests across all workloads in your Kubernetes clusters. Starting at $0.0041 per CPU per hour, this model lets you scale costs in line with actual usage.

Pricing Example:

• You run 10 workloads, each with a CPU request of 1000m (1 CPU).
• Total CPU requested = 10 CPUs
• Your cost = 10 CPUs x $0.0041 = $0.041 per hour

If your workloads scale up or down—e.g., via a Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA)—StormForge accounts for all replicas in its hourly pricing calculation.

Additionally, if your workloads are overprovisioned, StormForge’s machine learning will recommend lower resource requests, helping you optimize resource usage and reduce costs further.

How to Subscribe to StormForge Optimize Live via AWS Marketplace

To subscribe using the pay-as-you-go model:

1. Visit the StormForge Optimize Live listing on AWS Marketplace.

    You’ll find details about pricing, terms, and usage.

2. Click View purchase options.

     Review the Usage cost, Terms and conditions, and any additional details provided.

3. Click Subscribe.

    If required, enter your Purchase Order (PO) number.

4. Click Set up your account to launch the StormForge platform.

    You’ll be redirected to create or connect your StormForge account.

5. Complete account setup and deploy the StormForge Agent.

    You won’t incur any charges until you complete account setup and deploy the StormForge Agent to your       first Kubernetes cluster.

Where to Find Your StormForge PAYG Usage and Billing Info

To view your StormForge usage charges in the AWS Billing Console:

1. Sign in to your AWS Management Console.
2. Navigate to the Billing and Cost Management.
3. Select Bills in the left-hand navigation.
4. Choose the relevant billing period (e.g., the current month).
5. Under Marketplace charges by service, filter by "StormForge" to see all usage and associated charges. 

This will show you a breakdown of your Optimize Live charges across clusters and regions where the agent is deployed.
